Insurance for inexperience drivers

Featured Replies

Just arranging SWMBO's insurance for her 1.2 Punto but having a right mare of a time.

The car is valued at £400, she has no claims, no convictions and 1 yr NCB - but has only held a full license since Jan 2011.

All the quotes I am getting are in the £1,000's - I need to get this down to under a grand,

Where is the best place to try for a quote?

Depends on age but i would recommend CO-OPERATIVE, i was paying £500 on a peugeot 206 at 17 a few years ago. Another one is the NFU they are very good if its available to you.

She's 28 (29 next month) so it takes the pish a little..

I tried the Co-Op - they refused to quote because the radio has been changed from a tape cassette to an el cheapo Sony CD player - no amps, or anything. They have classed this is a sound system modification. What do they expect from an R reg car?

Not tried NFU as yet, will have to request a callback from them.
