Boost cut or over boost?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I have got a O2 vrs, if fitted cambelt service ect and have just taxed it. On my way to me m.o.t found the car to spool then cut off, then spool and cut off. I haven't even looked at pipes ect yet but just wondered if there was a common fault. It's Deffo not traction controll as it does It in all gears.

Cheers guys.

Sounds like a blown hose somewhere, start with checking breather hoses from crankcase to inlet pipe to turbo,

Throttle housing might benefit from a clean aswell, easy job if you have done cambelt on it

Yeah ibwas thinking along the lines of split pipe. Yeah im a mechanic so can clean it out. I might plug it in to me scanner aswell. Cheers for the reply

Scanner is showing no faults. Had a quick glance can't hear any leaks or see any split pipes. Might disconnect the maf an try it up the road

Disconnected Maf an no change.

Any wooshing noise? Mine blows off the dump valve pipes now and then but can always hear the boost leak. Never brings the check light on so may not log it

I can hear the whistle from the turbo but to be honest I thought this was normal, I'm new to vag turbos, my 200sx sounded alot louder from the turbo. I'm gonna have a butches over it on me lunch break so fingers crossed. If the works snap on scanner can't find anything and I can actually see any faults may have to put it on a vag com system. I could do with finding out what th standard boost pressure is and what I'm running as it may be a case of stuck wastegate in the turbo, on part throttle it does still pull pretty well.
