Hi, i did a self service on my 1.9d S reg felicia. I changed the air, fuel and oil filter. I also had to change the power steering pulley due to a previous idiot replacing it. While i was at it i put a new alternator belt on it.

After i had done the service, i had a slight problem starting her up again, after dragging her round a yard got her starting again. But the problem i now have is that the airbag light stays on. Im sure thats not normal after a service??

If anyone could know why the airbag light would come on and how to fix it, it would be good.

Theres only one airbag (drivers side)

voltage regulator on the altenator,i changed mine and the airbag light went out.

So i would need to get a new part then? Cheers

Yes. Its just a small one though. It basically regulates the voltage output from the alternator. So basically if you drive it too much and rev the engine too much instead of around 14v the alternator will be putting out much more than that and can fry the electrics in the car!

It's on the alternator itself.

I had the airbag light on for a while in my car....it was due to a high/intermiitent voltage, most probably cause of my airbag light would be a jump start of one of those battery jump packs being used to start the car!
