If not, try leaving it overnight. My Polo GAMMA radio did this, and I thought I was stuck as I didn't have the code. Came back to it a day or two later, and it was working again.

Later?!? cars it's supposed to pair with the car. Hence, you don't need to know the code. It's supposed to sort itself out when re-installed.

Assuming the wiring is correct and hasn't been switcher-roo'd for an aftermarket unit. The symphony should sort itself out after an interval.
