Inlet cam & sprocket

Featured Replies

Hi there

Just recovered a W reg' Fabia 1.4 16v from my sister, she'd taken it to a garage for a cam kit and they didn't tighten up the sprocket properly, end result it now needs a new inlet camshaft, sprocket and woodruff key.

Is there an aftermarket place I can get hold of these items or do I need to get robbed by a main dealer for them?

cheers

The garage she had it done should pay for it due to them not doing there job properly and resulting in damage to the car.

Just like when qwik fit did a tyre on my old car and 3 miles later the wheel came off resulting in damage to the car.

Alas it was over 2 years ago, and there isn't definitive proof of their blame in the matter...

Tried that one.

Oh I see, thought it was just changed.

Phone up some scrappy's and check the VW and SEAT forums for anyone breaking a 1.4 equivalent.

Skoda didn't use a different cam profile for their engines did they?

wouldnt have thought so mate. Certain they produce the same power, torque etc at the same revs. Bit like a Ibiza anti roll bar will fit the Fabia etc. But have a little look online and comparethe engines.
