Looking to buy a VRS, has anyone got any tips?

Featured Replies

Hello folks, I'l looking to buy a fabia vrs in the near future, and was wondering if there was anything in particular that I should be looking out for when buying one?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Decent service history and depending on milage the cambelt/waterpump should have been changed (60k/4 years from new)

Rear doors leak water in but it's a simple fix.

Some people have had their turbos blow so look for any documents in the service history too see if it's been changed.

Front console bushes are crap but easily uprated with Ibiza cupra/powerflex bushes.

Try and look for one with optional extras such as xenons, heated seats, sunroof, sat nav (rare) etc

Check that all the switches work and the air con :)Rust is not unknown either. Damp floors indicate leaks.

DONT BUY MINE lol!

DONT BUY MINE lol!

epic LOLZ

Tips 4 wheels a steering wheel and thats about it lol

Nah check usual so FSH, minimal owners, No massive advisorys on previous MOT's, Cambelt and waterpump changed. Make sure it engages reverse correctly (If its hard to put into reverse may be the firsts signs of a poorly clutch) I would say unmodifed. And as many toys as possible so.... leather, satnav, sunroof blah blah the usual. If your still not sure AA or RAC will give you a hand it may cost but worth getting some proffesional advise for a few ££'s rather than spending ££££££'s cos you have purchased a lemon..
