Skoda Fabia Error Codes, 1248 & 1252

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a 2005 1.9sdi Fabia with 150k on it, Just bought it for my wife and has developed this problem, Engine management light is on with error coes 17656/P1248/004680 - Start of Injection Timing Regulation: Control Deviation and (17660 injection start valve-N108, open circuit/short with ground P1252)

The fabia still drives and starts but runs with a diesel knock and is very very slow! Have been told it might be something to do with a bad earth, N108 valve and have been advised it could be the feed to this as well, Does anyone have any other ideas and also does anyone know what this valve actaully does...Also I know the sdi's are the asy engine code but will an injection pump from a octavia sdi fit if needs be

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Feel free to call or text me with advice on 07863753062

Regards

Iain

Sounds like a poorly injection pump to me, could have been caused by water in the fuel by not draining/replacing fuel filter enough.

Either a pump recon or new pump I'd guess.

Is the fuel pump an easy thing to access/remove from SDI engine? I only ask as there is an SDI in a local breakers which has been rolled. No idea on mileage etc on the engine though.

Right at the front of the engine driven by the cambelt.

Hey guys thanks for the replys so far... I have been advised by a skoda mechanic this is quite common and that it could just be a bad earth on the pump and to try and earth it by running a wire from the pump to the battery....
