Seat Exeo

Featured Replies

Picked up the above tonight to run for a few days. Initial impressions seem very good. It's the 140 bhp CR with sport tech - 18's, sports suspension, rain sensitive wipers, leather, auto lights and after a quick spin seems very nice. 24k seems quite a bit when it's clearly slower than my vRS which is cheaper but I've got used to it. It's got a good smooth ride, nicely weighted steering, and is good to drive. I was surprised that it's longer than the Octy by only 10mm as it appears to be smaller and lower. It's got a full leather interior which is nice, the seats are height adjustable with lumbar support in the same place as in the Octavia - and seems almost as ineffective.

It's got two SD slots, Aux in for Ipod and CD for both music and satnav, operated by a flip screen that conveniently hides the slot and is pure magic to watch. It'd probably be a good secondhand buy, but not sure about new as there seems to be better value cars out there. Compare it to an 2006 model Audi A4 in terms of spec and equipment and you get the picture.

Nice - I've got an SE Tech on demo from Seat at the moment. Same engine, but minus the sports suspension and 18 inch rims that the Sport Tech has.

Have actually ordered one as my next company car, but in ST (estate) guise.

I did an awesome lease deal so it was daft not to. I think you're right, the Exeo will make a good used bargain for someone in a few years. A similarly specced new Audi A4 would be nearer £30k, if not a touch more.

Exeo will only make a good secondhand buy, they devalue at astronomical rates. Why?, because nobody is buying them and those that do have great difficulty selling later as nobody wants them. Compared to cars of similar size, the Exeo is cramped inside, has little rear legroom and to me looks quiet dated as it is due to the car its based on.

I very nearly considered an ST version of the Exeo as my replacement company car - I originally thought that the Superb would be out of my price bracket and I do like the look of the Exeo ST - plus the levels on equipment on this version are quite generous.

However upon reflection it wasn't big enough against my current Octavia and certainly not against the Superb. Then my lease renewal came through and I could get a Superb - no brainer really!

I agree with others, it will do well as a secondhand bargain, once a lease company has written down all the depreciation and then joe public can pick one up with plenty of kit for not much money.
