Wipers

Featured Replies

OK, my only real annoance on my OctyII is the wipers.

It's got the autowipers but I don't have a problem with that.

When I wash/wipe they seem to wipe one wipe too many and then regardless of how little water i've sprayed some several seconds later it wipes again.

Now i've driven other cars that did this extra wipe but I was always quite quick after the main wipes and the main wipes were about right. In these salty conditions it's damn annoying as the extra wipe is smearing the salty spray that's already accumulated since the wash/wipe finished.

Also, my wipers are not parking below the screen as they should most of the time. Wondering if the non parking thing means that the wipers are also doing other things wrong.....

I too find the autowipe system a bit annoying in this weather. As regards the parking problem, it says in the handbook "After the windscreen wiper switches off for the second time or the ignition switches off for the fifth time, the rest position of the windscreen wiper changes - this counteracts an early fatigue of the wiper rubbers." That's not very clear to me, but I guess it means the rest position is constantly changing!

Yeah, I read that this weekend but it's not consistent. I've actually watched it 'park' as I come to a stop with the switch in auto mode but when I turn it off it always seems to go to the park position and then come back up into view again... I'll raise it at first service as it's not worth taking it in just for that when everything else is spot on
