Skoda Octavia Drivers Side mirror parts

Featured Replies

Hi I am a happy owener of a Laurent and Clement Skoda Octavia with remapped engine......I have to say I love it and I am disappointed when I drive other inferior cars with my work.

Wondered if anyone could advise me on the part numbers for the drivers side electric mirror. The mirror glass is like new but is loose, it pivots from diagonal to diagonal. Have pulled it off and it appears that something has broken inside with the elctronic mirror adjustment. Electrics still work ok think a plastic pillar has snapped off. The outer shell doesnt have a mark on it. They are heated and electric and its a 2005 model.

I was going to look on ebay but was after a schematic so I could get the right replacement part.

Thanks in anticipation.

Anyone got any update on this? My driver side mirror glass fell out this morning and smashed - Octy 2 2007

It's a common problem on the Octavia.

The bond between the glass and the backing pad deteriorates over time and detaches.

The secret is to notice the movement of the glass (as in the opening post) or the vibration in the reflection before the glass finally parts company and drops to the ground and cracks.

There are replacement mirrors glasses available in their hundreds on eBay or from your local motor factors but many people have complained about the quality of the reflection.

Genuine OEM replacement glass is available from Skoda, for around £40.00 I think and it is an easy DIY to replace.

There are heated on non-heated versions...

Non-genuine, delivered - £12.99...
