Does this happen to anyone else

Featured Replies

Had the mk2 vrs for bout a month now and there seems to be a couple of little niggles with it when driving....

First one is when your driving along in manual mode and you come to a stop there have been a few ocassions where the car has made a clunk sound and all of a sudden the brake pedal has gone solid and cant be pressed :S but if you put it into park the pedal goes back to normal.

Second one has only just happend today again when in manual mode and i go to pull out of a junction i have no power and the green light on the dash pops up telling me to put my foot on the brake after doing that the power comes back. Has anyone else experianced these problems before??? Im off back to the dealers next week so will prob mention to them see what they say but thought id see if anyone on here can shed some light to these strange and potentially dangerous happenings :S :S

First one is I believe the car popping out of gear and putting the hold brake on, this is common and not a problem.

Second one I'm not sure about :( sorry

Flick it into 'D' at junctions or stopping and it wont do it

I tend not to use the tiptronic for that very reason. I tend to leave it in D, but override it with the paddles to have manual control. Never had an issue with it this way, but using the tiptronic has left me in the same situation as you twice

Cheers for the replies nice to know my car ain't broke lol

First one sounds weird? I assume this is the hill hold that's engaging or something? Anyway i'm more interested in the second one.

Twice in the last week I have pulled out of the village I stay in, in manual, and the car has left me rolling across the junction with no power what so ever! I find this absolutely ridiculous and now I have no confidence in pulling off in manual or anything else for this matter. I wrote a wee thread up about this last week! Glad to see i'm not the only person getting this! I think i'm going to the dealer this weekend if i get a spare moment because I also need them to properly fit my wing mirror controls seen as there now pretty much inside the door!
