Octy 2.0 L&K DSG Service

Featured Replies

Can anyone help please, I'm looking for a list of what should be done on the various services on my car. Its a 2.0l diesel Octy2 L&K DSG on a 08 plate. Its done 65,000 miles, and I need to know what should be done and when.

Thanks folks :)

DSG Box service should be done every 40k miles recommended although some say 20k is better. But as long as it's every 40k then any box warranty issues will be valid.

Remainder is as per whatever service regime you are on and what is stated in the service manual

Whoa who says 20k for a dsg service?

I was talking to a vw mechanic the other week and said that they rarely have issues with the gear boxes anymore apart from the odd mechatronic unit.

I take its a oil change for the gearbox, or is there more to it (filter) ect. cheers

It is an oil change yes. But it has to be done by a garage unless you have the special tools to do it and VCDS to reset it afterwards.

On Average it costs about £140-170 depending on garage labour charges.

@jrw - I have had conversations with a few tuners who suggested to me that 20k is probably better. They likened it to the oil in the engine in the car (I know it's not the same oil) would you leave that for 40k? I'm not saying you HAVE to change every 20k. As long as you do every 40k you are fine for warranty purposes.

I would leave it til 40k if that's what was proven and recommended. Just like trucks can go up to 100k without a service.

Suffice to say there is no way I will be having my dsg serviced every 20k. ;)
