Need some advice please

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just driving home from work and the engine warning light came on. When I got home scanned with vcds lite and got the following code:

17545/P1137/004407 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Rich

Now Ive checked the wiki and searched the forum and am aware there are things I need to check.

My question is if after a cursory check of all the pipework etc, if I cannot see an obvious problem should I clear the

code and see if it comes back before taking further action such as replacing maf or dv or whatever?

Im a complete newbie when it comes to vcds having only used it to enable cruise control so far.

I drive an Octy Vrs mk1 02 plate.

Many Thanks

Paul

Reset the code and see how it goes. Use Vcds as a diagnostic tool with a pinch of salt. Relying on it instead of using it will cost you.
