Sub rattles boot trim...(Fabia vRS)

Featured Replies

Hey there guys & gals,

whenever me sub drops or gets wound up to a nice "waaap waaaap" something is vibrating away between the numberplate & the plastic trim...

...anyone got any tips on how to remove the trim so i can investigate?

Also, if anyone else has had this problem how did they solve it?

Ta,

same with mine???

Not with mine, but that big bit of trim does simply unclip like a door card - just lever something in between the lid and the plastic and lever it off until you start hearing Snap, snap SNAP! (its only metal clips unpinging)

Then that bit of trim pops out. I had oodles of fun trying to get it back though after I did some padding out! :grumpy: Took me and someone else a long time to get it correctly aligned and all the clips back in. :(

so careful prying and lots of nasty sounds later it should become 'free'..

As per haynes manwells, "simply clip trim back into place"... :P

right, will try that when the sun comes out i think. I'm fed up of doing things around a wet car or in the rain.

Not sure what it could be thats rattling though, as my rattle I went looking for was particularly bad over rumble strips leading into 30 zones. Now I've shoved padding everywhere in the boot that cable met metal, its lessened, but is still apparent! :( Not sure if I missed something whilst I was rooting around padding out what I could. :o

Make sure it aint you tool kit rattling in the spare wheel if you stil have one fitted.

On my last car I had to use some rubber strip to space between the number plate and its mount, as it was the plate itself that rattled. That sorted it though
