Hi all, I am looking to do my wheels in anthracite. I have been scouting around for the paint code but I can't seem to find the pacific colour "anthracite" in the VW range. I have heard it is an effect rather than an actual colour so there is about a million different interpretations of it.

What colour has everyone else used for the wheels when it comes to anthracite?

Pictures and pain codes please.

Not sure on exact paint codes. Most people tend to look at samples from the refurbers and go from there. Are you doing them yourself?

The paintcode for Octy2 anthracite is F8J, if that helps?

I recall someone using a Ford grey for a DIY wheel job a while back, think it was Polar/Polaris Grey they used. Paintcode for that is 2455C.

If you've got an actual VW paint finish in mind that you want to use, if you know which model it was used on and the year, I can probably get you the paint code.

I am going to do it myself. So I need a paintcode of sorts to go down and order it.

There's Lunar Grey on the Seat Leon. Is that what you mean?

Thats alot like Grigio avlon. Solid colour. Liking something with a relefection TBH. But searching the colour has chucked a slight spanner in the works.

I've owned and driven a Rover 25 and an MG ZR 160 and there not that bad lol. The seats in them are better than the Octy by far! Only thing I miss about it. Ohhh and it was really easy to keep clean lol.

Are me and you related? lol. Because We have owned the zr(160 edition)/zs(1.4 atomix, 180 edition)/zt(1.8t) as well as the F and TF. Had the rove range also! One might think we like british leyland in my family.

Haha, fairenough. We bought a bulk lot of K-series head gaskets so we had to use them up some how.

Yeah, we have a mini spray booth setup. It's not perfect but for refurbing a set of wheels for £20 all in then I can't complain.

Looking on lambocars.com and it looks like all grigio's are going to be 2ct colour system. Nuts. Had this one with bloody verde ithica (lambo green) Double the money and it doesn't appear to make much difference. Are all "anthracites" 2ct would anyone know?

My wheels are now on there way to being Grigio Lynx. It didn't turn out to be a 2ct system but it had its own complications.

The paint is water based so it is new to me and has been a learning process, but the colour itself is a fantastic grey! can't wait till it is done.
