window problems

Featured Replies

Window went down window came partially up appeared to jam then went down again, which I suppose its designed to do that. thats all it will do when trying to close, problem I have now how do u get into the workings? I,ve got as far as undoing all the bolts ,cables ect. but cannot pull the panel off. It appears to be the window drive mechanism thats holding it, any suggestions please 2005 Superb

Thanks

Will the glass rise as much, that you can see the 2 bolts from the rubber grommets? If so, then you can separate the glass from system and should get the panel off.

Thought that may be the reason so took out the peaker which gave me access drilled a hole for the other got the glass out but still won,t budge. I,m going to try loosening the lock mechanism, after that any other ideas?. Thanks for your reply.

Well latest update faulty drive cable. Now would it be easier to make 1 myself or wait & see if local Skoda spares call me back. Tried VW but they don,t have access to skoda part numbers. Is there anyone else I can try as I need to sort this out by Sunday

Tel

1 more query, are there limit switches to cut off the motor when opening or closing the window

What do you mean by drive cable? Go to any available junkyard that has Passat B5 in and take the faulty piece from there. If it is the cable (not electrical cable) that allows the window carrier to rise and lower, then there are repair kit available for this. You have to drill the old system out from the panel and install the new system with bolts (included in kit)
