PTT Button

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is a bit of a numpty question, which is about voice dialling.

Before I changed my Bluetooth module in my 58-plate Superb II 170CR DSG Elegance, if I pressed the PTT button, it worked.

Since changing to the new module (in order to pair my BlackBerry Torch 9800 successfully every time - which it does), I didn't give the PTT button a thought, or a try, until today. Now, it doesn't work.

Is this because:

  • it will only work with RSAP (as per my previous Nokia mobiles)?
  • it will never work with Bluetooth-paired mobiles?
  • a setting needs changing on my BlackBerry?
  • a setting needs changing on the Superb (I have the latest VCDS).?

All and any comments welcomed!

TIA :)

I also tried over on Ilexa's technical forum (I bought my VCDS from them and they offer support). I was told that what I was trying to do was "simply wrong" and that the unit was not designed to do this (in spite of a link I provided which shows exactly this function working). When I politely queried the reasoning behind this comment I received a rebuke from another member of the Ilexa forum. Amazing! That's not exactly "support" AFAICS.

IIRC, for the PTT function to work, the bluetooth module needs to support HFP. My guess is that your new module only supports RSAP.

If you post the before and after part numbers, I'm sure someone will be able to help.

My module supports both protocols. That's why I changed it.
