have got all the top off and put new filter in

does the lip of the filter go in the rim before putting top back on easier

or sit round the edge as a seal when putting back on

it should fit only one way unless you've got a filter for a different model (or universal one). never fitted an uprated one (i guess that's what u're on about?) but imagine it should fit the same way as a stock one... lip goes inside and when you put the top cover back on - you cannot see the filter lip.

The filter will have a lip on it that slots into the bottom section to stop it falling into the box. This is not seen when the top section is offered up to bottom and is sealed as a sandwich effect.
