VCDS Cable

Featured Replies

I bought this approx 1year ago from another member on here. I haven't registered or tried to register it and I'm unsure of the original owner had registered it.

I have used it to clear some fault codes from when the battery was replaced & have have tweaked a few items on the car however due to the reliabilty of these cars it has sat on the shelf in the Lounge ever since.

Pics to follow when I get home.

It is a Gendan product and more details can be found here

Payment to be made via Paypal (gift or normal however I would ask you pay the paypal fees if paying normally) or bank transfer

Tony,

Sorry but the offer is too low.

Matthew

Anychance if you could find out if its ever been registered?? Could be interested.

People probably already know this, but the registration process is only for when/if you need to contact Ross-Tech direct for assistance. For example, I've never registered mine as there's never been the need.

This will work straight away for the new owner, on any laptop you install the software on and a high level of support and assistance are provided by Ross-Tech staff on this forum and many others anyway, for any issues you might have.

Hope this helps, and sorry if I've stated the obvious!

The software has an auto update function and flashes the lead firmware if needed :thumbup:

Cheers

I will also add that in the time I've had it and used it I haven't had any issues with the software or lead and all of the things I've wanted todo have all been easy to find on Briskoda

No probs guys - happy to help :)

As said, the 'license' to use the software is effectively held in the cable (there's a small chip in the end of the cable by the connector). VCDS checks this when you load the software. This doesn't rely on registering the cable or contacting Ross-Tech in any way, it's just there to check you have a genuine cable and therefore a right to use the full VCDS software. By having a genuine cable you also benefit from any new releases for VCDS that Ross-Tech release. The software also has an auto-check update function, and will alert you to a new software version.

The beauty of this is that you only need the cable, and then quickly load the software onto any laptop you have to hand
