Hi all

Two days after booking my g60/vr6 conversion in the vRS has died, I think :(.

Drove it into work today absolutely fine, went to go out on lunch and it turns over but won't start, and after about 5 seconds of turning the red oil light flashes.

The only thing I coins thing would bs the pickup getting sludged up as it's on 103k and has never been done, but surely it would still start?

Confused :(

The oil warning light is perfectly normal for a car that doesn't start.

First thing to do would be to check the fuses.

Phew, after some searching I realised about the oil light...!

Just bumped it and it started! I wonder what could have been the problem!!! Will now start on the key again... Weird weird weird.

In your original post, you said the car turned over. Did the starter sound normal?

Maybe it wasn't engaging and turning the engine - just spinning.

If it seemed to be cranking slowly, then check the earth strap to the gearbox and the B+ cable to the starter solenoid.

also worth checking the 409 relay

you will find the connection within the relay can become pitted and can cause starting issues from time to time

if you dont hear the fuel pump primming when you get in the this is prob the problem
