I am getting a new grill surround wrapped so will need to swap it over with the current one. I colour coded the grill surround on my pre facelift vRS but can't remember how I removed it. I don't actually know whether the FL one removes in the same way. Can anyone advise or has anyone done a how to guide?

I think the removal is the same as pre-FL, there had been a thread recently which has shown the 2 are interchangeable, almost!

There are 5 (I think) small bolts, and one larger bolt. There are then 5 plastic fixings that you need to pinch in order to get the whole grille out. Thats the easy bit!

Once you've got the grille off the car, if you need to separate the two parts then thats where patience comes in - I used a couple of flat-blade screwdrivers and gently prized off the inner grille - some of plastic clips are a bit flimsy so you need to be VERY careful.

How much did your FL grill surround cost? Was it reasonable? I like the idea of getting the new one ready before taking the old one off!
