front lights

Featured Replies

i've seen a few vrs's with smoked/tinted front lights was just wondering how to go about this or where to buy these style lights from also does any one know if mk4 golf coillies fit the octavia

Front lights are done by sticking a film over them such as fly eyes

I think golf coil overs are ok, just the spring and dampers that shouldn't be fitted to an octy (cold be wrong!)

Mk4 Coilovers will fit but they'll be the wrong spring rate for the extra weight of the Octavia

One 12" x 24" Universal Film Cover was just enough.

Mine are Subtle Tint

i used the fly eye kit

think it was around £14 and had enough for the front and back and some left over incase

I normally hate smoked lights because of how it makes them look dull. But that looks rather nice! knocks back the chrome inside and is still rather shiney by the looks

Thanks :) Yes they're still pretty shiny. The finish was why I went for Lamin-X over Flyeyes.

I wanted to de-bling the front a bit and had been thinking of doing them for ages. I thought they might be illegal for NZ's WOF (MOT) but it passed the last one with them fitted.

Could you get some close up shots for me please :)

Can someone with a black octy with a black grille do this for me so I can determine if I do it to my car or not lol

These are freshly applied and there are some marks showing from the water used to apply them - they have gone now.

Lamin-x is great stuff and there's some pics of my lamin-x lights in the link in my sig on a black vrs with black grille but mine will possibly look darker as I've also split my light and painted inside them

Rob, where did you get your Lamin-x from and what cut did you get? Or can you just buy a sheet.

How easy was it to install?

I bought mine directly from www.lamin-x.com, but they do have a UK shop www.lamin-x.co.uk

One 12" x 24" Universal Film Cover was just enough but I had to measure carefully.

It's easy to cut with a craft knife and you just use water to apply. You need a roller to roll out the bubbles but it's not hard to do.
