Speedo and turn signal shown in Stream MP3 radio

Featured Replies

Hi guys - first posting so please bear with me!

I nead some help with my Stream MP3 radio.

I have found out that it is possible to enable some kind om "driving instructor" mode, (Fahrlehrer modus)on VW models that have either a RCD 210 or RCD 310 radio unit.

From what I have been able to find out you have to select chanal 56, function 10 or something like that?

When the correct mode has been selected the radio will bee able to display both current speed and turn signal.

Due to some pretty wierd rules regarding driving tests here in Denmark I need to have an extra speedo where the range up to and including 130 kph is FULLY visible from the passenger side.

Hence my question is: Does anyone know if my Stream MP3 (year 2008) can be coded to show the same features as the VW RCD 210/310?

Hope you will be able to help.

Best regards

Michael

First off, your Stream does not compare to a RCD210/RCD310 but instead would be similar to the RCD300 and not all RCD300 support this Feature. Usually there is a special Version which will be installed when the Car is being ordered with Driving School Options. The Adaptation Channel in Question would be 002, but I would be seriously surprised if your Stream had that Channel/Option to begin with. If you really need this Functionality, an upgrade to a Blues (RCD210) or Bolero (RCD310) Radio might be an Option here as I think all of those should have this Feature.

Hi Theresias!

Thanks for your prompt reply.

To be quite certain - are you saying that the Stream (RCD 300) in fact would be able to show the speed?

If I do not have the special version you mention can I get the one I have modified - and what would it take?

Do you know if my local dealer will bee able to do it for me?

As I have a pre facelift Octavia I think that the Stream goes better with the interior than a Blues/Bolero :)
