Hi again, after all these years!

I'm looking at a fabia 1.4mpi (51plate) on friday, the chap selling it has said that there is an engine management light on, is this a real problem normally. Or can it be a multitude of problems?

He is asking £850 for it, 81k on the clock, 6 months tax and few months MOT, if anyone thinks this is a good deal let me know? Not that you can tell without looking at it i guess...

The light could a wide range of things. Unfortunately the lights often mean "somethings gone wrong" rather than a specific error.

I would get the fault codes read before you consider buying it. Do you know anyone with VCDS? or you could buy a cheap cable from someone like gendan and use the lite version of VCDS.
