Auto Wipers

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am still waiting for my own car to arrive (end month) but am driving a hire car Skoda at the moment and I have noticed a strange phenomenon that when the wipers are set to auto and a police car with his blue strobes on passes even if it is not raining the wipers will start up while the police car is near, anybody any ideas why?

John

The rain sensor (I think) measures reflections from rain on the sensor, so I would assume that it's being confused by the light from the strobes into thinking that there's water on the sensor.

Or it's got a built-in "guilty" sensor, and it's trying to hide your identity!
