Got My Vrs today at 12.01 am :thumbup:

Spent most of the day grinning like a cheshire cat!

Mid range is top comedy quick!!

Effected my first repair (double sided carpet tape to hold my throttle pedal rubber on)

First big thinks bubble   The handbook mentions the computer display between the speedo and tacho but mine stays permanently blank. Is it me or is it buggered.

Apart from that,I am a very happy bunny

You should have various symbols light up in there when you switch the ignition on.

computer display is under tacho itself I thought?

Play with the button on the end of the washer stalk and something should flick around, when the engine is running at least. ;)

Happy are we? :D

Edit: Actually is it the tacho? I've forgotten which side it is? :o

very happy mate :D

I have seen and mastered the one under the tacho but the handbook mentions a different one very similar to the one I had on my passat, all red writing and big warning messages etc. Probably god my head up my **** again!!

Thanks anyway

sounds like your having as much fun as me :D although not too much yet as im worried about running it in, havent been above 3k rpm yet not sure if this is best to do or not  ?!

Any ideas?

how are you running yours in?!

Taking it easy and not gooing above 2.5 til warm then not above 4 at all and then only very short excursions above 3. Will do this until 600 miles and then extend a little to 1000miles. Then it's game on :D although I doubt I will ever go much above 4 as the power just tails off.

Best of luck resisting temptation mate

cheers boyo

Hello all - Lovin mine today (well, tonight anyways).

Picked it up this morning (in the rain  ) and drove it home + around a bit. After 30 miles it was bloody filthy! I see what everyone means about the Furby having a dirty bum! You could have taken the 05 plate off and it woulda looked at least a year old!

Anyways the weather cleared up enough to not only give her a clean, but also a splash of diamondbrite too. Looking forward to seeing how that fairs.

Took her out for about another 30 miles tonight. Was a really good drive and I can feel the car growing on me. The xenons are just bloody awesome, heated seats lovely and snug, parking sensors already been used but have only toyed with the cruise control.

Anyway, it's a big  so far. Am hoping to have 500+ miles on it by the end of this weekend. Lovely jublee.

Have attached a pic taken just after she got diamondbrite'd. Hmmmmm

The Computer between tacho & speedo that is in the manual is not the UK spec cars,or Vrs. Cant work out which cars, altho have seen the Passat type on the new Octy

Afraid the trip computer is the small LCD, below the dark panel.

Steve

Thanks for that info, may stay below 3 for 500 miles then a bit more till 1000 miles then ill call it run in!!

VRS_AML cant belive you managed to get a diamondbrite session in!! was horrid weather tho pick up a new car in wasnt it! I washed it twice so it looked nice when i showed people! Diamondbrite looks great though, mega shiney. got a pic of mine attached, dirty though!

Are you going to diamondbrite the seats? I got the stuff ready to do. Do you have to make sure it only goes on the seats and cover things up or just spray anywhere ?

Cheers

Dont baby it. Let it warm for approx 10 miles then drive it up to 4000 rpm, and it will run in quicker and use less oil. Babying it will just make it take longer to run in. Just dont redline it in every gear.

Once you reach 60,000 miles you've pretty much run it in. ;)

:) like the sound of that advice! I dont like revving cars too much so driving up to 4 will suit me fine.

cheers

I think you are referring to the maxi-dot display. As far as I know, it isn't available on UK spec vRSes.

Yep think you're right there - standard on the Octy L&K and some of the Superbs I think. I seem to remember someone mentioning it was required as part of the Sat Nav option on the Fabia though, so maybe if you have that option fitted, you get the MaxiDot?

Yeah your right the MaxiDot comes with the sat/nav, wouldnt mind having it myself

MaxiDot is only available with SatNav - it would be pretty cool to find out more about how to drive that little display though, as it would give a nice touch :D

Yep sure did. And I did the interior/seats too! All in all, took me 5 hours. Must have had a lucky break with the weather.

Pity the car looks $hite again today

Wouldnt see 210bhp out of a chipped/remapped furby, unless it had an uprated turbo...
