Hi, I got Redex diesel cleaner from Tesco for a fiver. Then saw a fancy Redex Ultimate or whatever in gold packaging in Halfords for £15.

So what is the best cleaner for a diesel engine? My engine is the AWX and would like something that does a good job in one treatment.

I use BellAdd, though i am not sure it is available in your region.

I'm not sure if any of those treatments do any good at all. Most mechanics I've ever spoke to say they're a waste of money.

I throw half a bottle of Redex in every two tankfulls, never had a problem with the fuel systems on any of the cars that i have owned, my last MOT smoke test reading was .78 and i don't drive my car like iv'e just nicked it, so in my opinion it works and no doubt other members will disagree with me.

P51, I have just reread the thread,if you mean engine flush i wouldn't touch that -hite with a barge pole, does more harm than good.

Yes, sorry. I meant additive that cleans injectors etc.

i've always used millers myself.
