Renault Scenic Front Fogs not working

Featured Replies

I have a 53 plate Scenic II, 1.9 dCi Priv with front fog lights. As the title says, they dont work and never have since I owned the car. I got a little spare time during daylight today to do some testing with my multi-meter and the result is........

I still don't know why they dont work.

1. The fuse is OK but replaced it with a new one anyway.

2. Checked both bulbs and they are OK (nice and bright)

3. I have checked continuity from the fog lights to the plug on the bumper and that is OK.

4. I checked for a feed from the other half of the plug and socket with the lights on (well, would be on if they worked) nothing.

5. Checked with engine running, nothing.

6. Checked continuity from fuse to socket on bumper which is OK.

7. Checked for a feed at the fuse, nothing (engine running and lights on).

Now I don't know where to look. The light on the dash says they are on but there is no feed to the fuse box. I can't find any relays so would I be right in saying I have a faulty Engine Multiplex Module or can it be programmed and currently mine is programmed to have no front fog lights? Or is it the UCH? Am I missing something simple as that happens a lot?

Worth asking over http://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum/ if you don't have any luck here. I'm still a member over there after Megane ownership many years ago and there's some nice, knowledgable folk there.

Thank you, I'm in scenicforums.com but it's not very good, also a member on renaultforums.co.uk

Briskoda is the best forum I've ever been on.

My wifes 02 plate Scenic is the same, I replaced the bulbs and all was well for about 3 months and they have stopped working again now..replaced bulbs but nothing.

Out of interest does your scenic have the twin sunroofs like ours? Apparently this causes problems with water ingress!?

Having a Clio myself, I usually put down it's little nuiances down to being 'French'

I don't have a sunroof so no leaks for me, I have heard they can be a problem though. The electric windows can give you hassle to.

French electrics :'(

My Clio had loads of problems with electric windows and the sunroof. Made from cardboard and paper clips.

And the Stereo...

And the brakes...

And anything with a joint or hinge...

And the paint...

And MOTs

Tyres lasted a long time

Good thing with renaults the tyres last for years and sometimes a litre of petrol can last months :giggle:
