Still planning my ICE install when a question crossed my mind...

Do you have to declare your ICE with your insurance company?

I am not going too crazy just flase floor, sub, 2 amps, components etc...

If you want your ICE installation to be covered - then defo yes,I think you probably should anyway - even if the components are well hidden,should you have a break-in that involves your insurance and they send an egineer - your giving them a get out of jail free card by not declaring it.

It's worth checking your policy - most will give a limit they will cover - so I suppose you could use that as a guide.

In a word yes! Your insurance company insures the car as standard, unless otherwise stated on your certificate. Anything not listed will result in your insurance being null and void!

My policy has a 1k limit on replacement audio as standard so as long as you declare any changes, you should be covered without your premium going up.

you can also set up seprate ICE insuarnce...but for what you have i dout this will be needed...

You might as well read the T&Cs of your policy before you go crazy phoning them - usually there will be details of what is covered in there, and it might say something like "any audio equipment up to the value of

Is it possible that changing the head unit could invalidate GAP insurance as well then. As daft as it may sound, it is true that companies will use any means to get out of a claim...GAP insurance says that a car cannot be modified at all.
