Anyone with a s****y interior?

Featured Replies

Although in my view there is very little wrong with the standard vrs interior (except for the white seats....) Has anyone done anything to freshen it up a little?

I was thinking about buying a spare set of air vents from a breakers yard and giving them a splash of paint, or even going down the sticker bomb route. Beside of course a leather retrim what have other people done to make the interior just little be extra special. (Plus I wouldnt mind STEALING!! some ideas ;) )

Of course pictures are essential :rofl:

P.S the title was s w a n k y but apparently thats now a swear word........... :S

I thought the thread title was "s h 1 t t y" so I came over to post about my minging brown, watermarked seats that I recently got looking acceptable with plenty of upholstery cleaner and elbow grease. Only to be disappointed :D

Wrapped my vents in shiny black vinyl first, then got bored of that then wrapped them in 3m carbon fibre along with the ashtray and gear stick gaitor.

Fitted interior LED's and done the shorter gear stick mod and with a new Sony cd player, the inside looks a bit cooler. :)

I asked about doing those bits in carbon and got no replies. That looks mint. Did you take the parts off and wrap them or what? I've a sheet laying around that should be big enough. Did you do the side vents as well? What about the wing mirror control bits?

All the bits were taken off the car to be wrapped.

It's tempting to keep going all around the car but keep it subtle.

Mattievrs: Armrest looks awesome. Like that.

I might buy a set from the breakers and take them to a spray shop and get them sprayed the same metallic colour as the car....if its possible. Some chap on ebay was selling the centre vents for £25 and the side ones for £15 each?? so £55 in total for air vents and then getting them sprayed up. Any idea were I could get them cheaper??

How easy is it to remove the air vent surrounds?

Flat screwdriver, prise the bottom out first.

There's clips at the top of vents.

It's easier to remove the whole vent, then unclip the face of vent to work on.

Where did you get the armrest from? was it an easy fit?

I've done the carbon fibre in my polo, looks awesome when done with precision and subtly.

How did you get your door hinges so clean??

How did you get your door hinges so clean??

Pressure washer?! :)

How did you get your door hinges so clean??

Get a brush, some AutoGlym De-Greaser and some Megs APC.

Apply the de-greaser, leave it for a few mins followed by the same process with the APC. Go to town with the brush and finish with a microfibre cloth.

When clean, wax it like you would your exterior panels. This makes it easier to get dirt off next time then.

I'd keep any clothes and applicator pads you use for this kind of thing separate to your normal ones. As Grease is still carried in the hinges etc.. will carry onto your gear. Last thing you want is for this to then transfer to your paint!

Sorry for the thread hi-jack

Rubber care/ diluted tyre shine will help here.

I'd recommend AG vinyl and rubber, gummi-pflege or chemical guys trim gel.
