Hi,

Came across this: http://www.whipcar.com/.

Definitely not renting out my car, just don't think its safe: crash, dirty fingers, driven hard etc.

But not a bad idea. They would insure your car, so if you have access to cheap third party insurance and a cheap 7 year car with MOT and Tax, you can rent it out.

Cheapest 7 year old car with no engine malfunctions reported on autotrader: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201131408620317/sort/priceasc/usedcars/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old/page/3/radius/1500/postcode/se18yu?logcode=p

£670 + £40 oil service / year + £200 contingency + £300 insurance + £150 tax = £1360 total a year

Rent it out for £15/day, say you can get 100 bookings a year - £270 commision (15% of rental cost + 20% VAT on that)

You get £1230 for rent, meaning you run the car at £130 a year with 265 days of use.

Sounds alright to me!

Unfortunately, I don't have the time nor the parking spare to do that!
