old stock car?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I bought my 2nd fabia new in september I traded in my 2 year old 9000 mile fabia auto and bought a fabia se auto. The problem is the old one drove better than this new one!I love my skoda,s this being my fourth but I hate to say that I am quite dissapionted with this car. When starting the car, it spins about 5 times on the starter before starting, the other one was just a quick flick of the key.The auto box is jerky from time to time and sometimes snatches into gear from third to fourth, when trying to accelerate at a junction or roundabout from time to time there is nothing there, then all of a sudden it,s away.the hifi volume goes on and off and the cds often jump.Today the one touch operation of the electric windows has decided to stop working! the car is no where near as economical as my last one,I know with mileage that may improve. In general the car drives as though it is a older car than my last one which was two and a half years old.Could this car be old stock and goodies added to sell them off? as some of these faults I can remember reading about on the early models. Its going back to the dealers next week.cheers automatic.

You can ask the dealer to tell you when the car was built (to within a month). All he needs to do is to check your car's VIN number in the VIN number overview section of ETKA - the dealers' online parts catalogue..

Sounds like you may have a problem if its taking longer to start, but may be something as simple as a coolant temp sensor fault which will effect just about all of your symptoms, ask your dealer to have a look.

Also on your one touch windows with the ignition on and both windows fully up just hold the switches up again for a few seconds, this will reprogram them.

Tried this on my 2001 Fabia last week when I changed the battery and it didn't work. I ended up using the key in the door method to lower and raise all the windows..... :D

Hi everyone get this the car is averaging 12.5mpg! booked in garage for next friday,I,lll be bankrupt by then at this rate. cheers automatic.

Sorry To Drag this post up, I had the Automatic and they are slow, Now the Fabia Sport is here (same engine) you can actually see what an automatic gearbox can do to a car. As for Fuel Economy, on a cold start I used to get 8-12MPG around town, that is normal. Apart from the 2.0 It is the Thirstiest Fabia, and In real life terms, probably the thirstiest of the bunch. Youll never get more than 44MPG I doubt. I think Skoda should have replaced this gearbox when the Fabia was facelifted. If anyone from Skoda is reading hint hint.......:)

I took my car back to the dealers with all the faults noted as posted in my earlier thread, surprise, surprise they found nothing wrong with the car. They fitted a temp sensor only after I pleaded with them to do so,they said as the fault was intermittent unless it appeared at the time they had the car it was very difficult to detect.Fair comment, but no offer of taking the car off me and lending me a loan car while they ran mine until the faults appeared, even after I told them that my wife had nearly had an accident with our children in the car due to the flat spot!To add insult to injury I asked the salesman I bought the car from would he be interested in buying the car back from me,he showed no interest at all just saying we have loads of stock at the moment I have cars round the back I cant even get cleaned for display,I asked him could he give me any idea what the car is worth he answered its to new it wont even be listed yet! then I asked if he knew of any dealers who would be interestd in buying this type of car,no idea was his reply.I couldnt beleive this was the same man I had bought three skodas from previously from and had paid him cash for my fourth in sep 2004.
