Fender flares and parking assistant

Featured Replies

My Yeti is to go to the dealer tomorrow to have the Skoda original fender flares mounted

as the missus wanted a more offroad look. We got the car in last week of June but the

flares were in backorder then.

BUT, as I have seen on a lot of other posts the parking assistant and fender flares is

not a good mix, have I paid for something that cant be delivered? Got the flares included

in the price for the new car.

I wonder if I still should have the flares mounted as I cannot see any reason to use

the assistant, its only there because this is a Yeti with all possible options, and I could

not stand waiting 6-7 months for one with "my" specs?

Or can the flares be "tuned" to fit a car with the assistant?

Any thoughts?

cheers

Otto

As far as I am concern there isn't a flare compatible with Park Assist, because it would cover the "eyes".

I suppose you can drill some holes for it to work, however you may also need to move the "eyes" forward towards the flares, which could be quite a bit of a job.

I am surprised that the dealer let you order it, unless there is a special version out there?

Yes they won't work as stated above... And it would be so easy to make them work - I had thought, until My-yeti mentioned the eyes being too far back above! Doh. Of course... They eyes will permanently see the flares. Drat.

As to PA: I LOVE it. use it all the time and won't be without it ever again.
