Im looking at changing the rear disks and pads on my 03 Octy VRS.

Is this a simple job? or is the handbrake mechanism on the callipers horribly complicated,

Any links to guides or other forum posts?

I dont want to start this job then get into bother and so on and the trouble that follows.

It's easy. You don't need to touch the handbrake at all.

All you need is a caliper windback tool.

ok... well thats me screwed, incoming ebay special wind back tool !

do they share the same tool as the VW passats?

Oh and is it a LH or a RH thread?

The thread is the same on both, or at least was on mine. Screws in clockwise. I would have thought it would be the same as te passat yes.
