New Car Purchase 170 DSG in Black

Featured Replies

I picked up a 2010 170 DSG in SE Spec recently.

So far I have been impressed with the car generally but mostly so with the combination of reasonable performance and economy. Going from 19mpg on average I am amazed at the mpg on this car for the size.

Took a few pics. I am aware that the registration number is showing but that has been changed for a private plate now so I'm not fussed.

The first modification has been to change the DRL's for led bulbs

I'd also forgotten how shiny a black car can be

That looks fantastic!!

Enjoy!

p.s. I picked my car up today. Fantastic car, big but so quick. Love it!!

What LEDs are you using for your DRLs, they look much brighter/whiter that the ebay ones I'm using.

I got them from Car Mod Shop

I have had some can bus warnings though. The customer support chap tells me that they have had someone else buy them for a 2010 superb and they were fine, but also someone had problems on a 2011 Superb.

Car looks good - was a factory build or stock order?

Front end has a nice aggresive stance on that front 3/4 picture.

What's your opinion of the SE seats / interior?

It was an ex Skoda UK car with just over 8000 miles on the clock. A very good deal.

So far I'm impressed with the seats and interior on the SE.

I've moved over from a full leather interior audi allroad and to be honest I thought I'd miss the leather interior.

I was particularly worried about the alacantra interior with my 5 year old daughter but so far no problems.

The interior is pretty well put together and compares well with the audi.

Other than that early days yet.

Apart from being a 140 rather than 170, identical to our new Superb.

Can't say enough positive things about it and the more I drive it, the more I love it.

Coming from a 3 yr old C4 1.6 diesel with clunky EGS semi-auto box, the engine and drivetrain in the Superb feels like the hight of sophistication.

Thanks for the help with the vcds.

The car now thinks it's an Aussie and wants me to take up cricket again and drink a few tinnies with it!

Lovely looking car mate. Loving my Silver Superb as well, Great Cars. Just wondering if you could confirm which model lights you used. Are these the H6W-CB model or the 1156CB ? Would love to change these up as it's the one thing that bugs me.

It was the 1156. I have returned them though because of the canbus bulb out warning error.

I never get this? What's wrong with the reg number showing when it can be seen by thousands of people every day when it's on the road?

If you wanted to do naughty things in your say black Superb, you could change the plates.

You would need to find a black superb with a number plate to copy, looking on the net is easier than hoping one would drive past you.

Cloned number plates are quite common these days, I know a guy who uses anpr for his business and sees warnings all day long.

Snap! B) [Exterior anyway] I still enjoy the look.

I got my DRLs from Ebay and they haven't caused me any issues. Maybe it does vary my model year.
