aftermarket GPS unit

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I was searching for an aftermarket GPS unit and came across this:

SKODA OCTIVA Car GPS Navigation System

Have any of you had any experience with this company? I like the OEM look they have, but I'm a little skeptic as to their legitimacy. Any input will be greatly appreciated, or if you know of another that looks close to the factory unit. Thanks in advance!

Oh no, not another cheap chinese unit. They are cheap for a reason as many on here have found in the past, poor GUI that crashes a lot, poor audio quality. The unit may have features like Bluetooth but its so poorly implemented that you'll need to shout for the other person to hear you. Avoid like the plague unless you want to waste your money as you'll have no warranty and little chance of getting any money back if the unit goes faulty.

These devices all run a now unsupported version of Windows CE dating back to 2004, and although you can get a nav application to run they will be old versions with old maps.

Get a TomTom satnav, loads to choose from, and a darn sight cheaper and more reliable.emoticon-0148-yes.gif
