Multi Func. Wheel

Featured Replies

Hey guys

New to the site (said hi in the newbies section) was wanting to know summitt before parting with hard earned.....i have been looking at a VRS oil burner on a 60 plate (not sure what i am going to buy either this or order a new one) question i have is i want the multi func wheel but can only this on the DSG (which the betta half doesnt want) is this right and if so any ways around this??

Also i want to know if there is anyway i can get to test drive one of these that has been re-mapped? as will probs pick it up from skoda and take it straight down to be done

Any advice/info on any of the above, or anything else for that matter would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Stewy

Silbury Skoda near Newcastle have a 58 plate white CR vRS that has been remapped. I used to own it!

That's one thing that really annoys me, the multi-function steering wheel isn't available on non-DSG equipped vRS's.

Nice one Skoda UK!

If you can find the cash to buy one or get lucky on eBay I believe there are a number of places that can fit them and wire them up for you, not a cheap mod though

Welcome Stewy

£179.00 and it's not even the vRS three spoke one :o

Or in the UK.

Alternatively if you wanted a cheaper one in the UK you could do worse than this immaculate one  (again not a 3 spoke one though)

If you really want a 3 spoke MFSW in a vRS then you have two choices (both would require buying the steering wheel elsewhere though)

1/Have redundant flappy paddles (I tried that and didn't like it)

or

2/ Do what I did:

I fitted a vRS (DSG) MFSW in my non DSG equipped car, I removed the flappy paddles, stripped them down and added some body filler to them to make some blanks, painted them and they look like this:

I had a 3 spoke vRS MFSW flappy paddle fitted to my Yeti. I use the paddles all the time. But I do have DSG. And it's remapped. Get swmbo to test drive one. She might be surprisedemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

There are plenty of non-vRS MFSW available without the paddles. They just won't have the perforated leather. Al 3 spoke MFSW seem to have plastic bottom spoke and not leather. emoticon-0149-no.gif

Hi Guys thanks for the info....what are Skoda thinking about my mams corsa on 55 plate has this option :giggle:

Rockhopper, we took a DSG out the other day and she is not interested as she like a manual (and she likes to drive it too, think she used to teach the stig in his early days ) might just leave it for now though.

Giz, thanks for the welcome buddy, that might be a raod to go down, like what you have done to the wheel, i take it all the functions on the wheel work with the car? might just look round the breakers or as Silver said might see if i can get hold of a RS4 or Golf GTI they should look nice.....ish B)

Junno....thats typical, i move down to the midlands from Peterlee in the north east and there is a car up there to try typical  was it the diesel or petrol? and what was the BHP? did it make much difference?

Cheers Guys, i have had all the VW's BMW.s and Audi's and sick of losing a fortune, when i have been biting the bit for these since they came out in 1.8T for all those yrs ago (i test drove a yellow from sedgfield and then went and bought a golf lol)

It was the cr tdi, dynoed at 203bhp and 300lbs, similar performance to a standard tsi and yes it made a huge difference over standard.

Yes all the functions work as intended (mine did however replace a 4 spoke MFSW)

Cheers for that Giz, will wait and see what i do then keep an eye out for one from a K&L or summitt similar as dont think the VRs is anything special (the inside looks well but the steering wheel looks out of place IMO)

Will be looking to drop the wheels for a set of 19" then will get the re-map done then see what i am doing regards the wheel

Cheers for that Jonno
