Wheel processing

Featured Replies

Right guys have some prices back for wheel processing (not a smart repair patch-up).

It's about £180+vat to have them returned to perfect condition or it's £220+vat to have them coloured black.

Couple of questions;

The quote is from lepsons in Swindon, are they any good?

What are people's views on Matt black or a shinny black finish?

Does anybody have any pics with a race blue vrs hatch with black wheels

Lepsons are meant to be one of the better re-furbishers out there, HOWEVER I had a 4 month old OE wheel done by Lepsons in Kent and TBH the finish was not at all impressive (silicone marks in the paint, a paint 'shadow' on the one spoke) they admitted they might not be able to any better the second time around! so refunded me, not a happy experiance.

Do you intend to seal/wax the wheels? if so then you will loose the mat finish.

Personally I am not a lover of black wheels at all as you loose all the detail of the wheel, plus they are far too common.

Thanks for the reply.

The only reason for wanting coloured wheels is to give the old girl a bit of a change and bring some life back into her. Have considered White wheels also

If I went Mary black then I wouldn't wax/seal them, as that would defeat the object.

One thing to consider then is that brake dust will stick to any matt or non polished/waxed surface easier making cleaning them harder - you could argue however that you would not be able to see the dust though :giggle:

With a waxed wheel 99% of the brake dust rinse off with plain water :thumbup:

What colour is the car?
