Fault codes

Featured Replies

Last week, the engine management light lit up on the dash of my 2006 2.0TDi Sport. I took it down to my local independant garage and he gave me a print out of 5 fault codes;

17055 - Cylinder 1 Glow Plug Circuit (Q10) Electrical Fault P0671

17057 - Cylinder 3 Glow Plug Circuit (Q12) Electrical Fault P0673

19557 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157) Open or Short to Ground P3101

17075 - Fan 1 Control Circuit Short to GND

19558 - Motor for Intake manifold Flap (V157) No Signal P3102

I was advised that the throttle body needs replaced but as it's an expensive part i thought i'd check here first to see if the members had any experience before i shell out the cash.

The car runs no differently to before the light came on. It's done 68000 miles and has just been serviced.

Any advice?

Thanks Kev.

i have fault code p2103 throttle actuator and thats costing enough, i feel for you mate.

I was quoted £271 plus VAT for a Pierburg throttle body kit but with a current deal at Euro Car Parts i can get it for £184 delivered but I just need a bit of assurance that it's not a simple fix that doesn't need the part replaced before I order it.

Kev.

The throttle flap has seized but be advised the cooling fan control is on the same fuse and that has blown, it's normally about fuse 6 in the ebox. That's what causes the cooling fault and quite often missed, advise a set of glow plugs also as two are faulty by the looks of things.

Thanks for the help Tech1e.

If i can pick your brain a little further....does this suggest that the stuck flap has caused the blown fuse or has the fuse blown and caused the fault codes to appear?

Would you still say the throttle body needs replaced or can the seized flap be unseized?

It seems a bit odd that there isn't a fault code just for the blown fuse....would save some diagnosis time.

I'll need to hunt out the 'ebox', wherever that is..

Thanks

Kev.

The seized flap blows the fuse, it's a shared circuit, needs a new flap.

The ebox is the fuse box under the bonnet by the battery.
