Phone car kits for superb 1

Featured Replies

Hey,

Have got some posts here that talk about installing these kits and stuff but no recent post and I want to try and get a kit that integrates properly with the audio system.

I have an elegance model with the built in sat nav so can you tell me what kits could I install that ( Preferably are wireless ) which can integrate with the stereo. I mean one where I can browse the phone book on the phone using the steering wheel buttons if possible.

AFAIK there is no blue tooth in the car so that rules out a lot of things :(

Thanks ... Jimmy

My car has a Bury bluetooth system in it works very well havnt had any problems with it pairing to phones touch screen to use it but no controls for steering wheel

I have had a Parrot 3100 in my last 3 Superb's (including my current Mk2 Elegance with factory Bluetooth) it doesn't work through the steering wheel controls but for ease of use, sound quality and compatability you can't go wrong.

Mine has a nokia ck something or other Bluetooth kit, it has it's own little volume control and answer button, call quality is very good. I don't think the standard radio would integrate very well as it's a bit dated now for anything better than the nokia.

Thanks for reply. So how do I connect one of these parrot systems to the existing system? Do I need to whip out the stereo and connect via the aux input or how does it work?

Thanks ...

There will be a pair of leads with the Parrot (one for power connections and one for speakers) the leads go in-line with the main ISO plugs on the back of the stereo. You will need to release and disconnect the stereo head unit (sat-nav units will 'lock' once disconnected and require the security code before working again).

Instructions are on the Parrot website.

The parrot kits a God send and any novice with patience can install one in under an hour. Just make sure the mic is positioned well, i put it on the steering column and put the parrot 3100 on a brodit bracket that is money well spent (no holes, no screws etc). The wireless loom is starightforward and no need to cut any wires.
