Which Turbo?

Featured Replies

Ive had my vrs for roughly 4 months now, it was a friend who owned it before hand and he managed to blow the turbo, on getting it replaced the garage replaced it with a garret turbo instead of the old kkk, he wasnt asked if he wanted to do this the garage (a bit of a pikey one) simply told him that when the new turbo arrived that it was a garret and it was a bit bigger than the old one but it still fitted. My friend just agreed and let them get on with it.

Now, there is no part number on the invoice etc..... but what are the chances it may have been replace with a pd150 or something similar if it wasnt and now is a garret and is bigger than the kkk?

Where would i find a part number on it easily?

Cheers guys :)

Tom

More likely to be the 130 option, there should be a pressed plate on the turbo with serial numbers etc. Hard to get at though, tucked round the back

So if i was looking at it under the inlet manifold what side would i be looking for this plate? And are the garrett pd130's bigger than the kkk's normally then?

Thanks and sorry for the ignorance!
