New Scout owner

Featured Replies

Had my Scout for ten days now, and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. Some of questions though.

1. With my old Fabia 2006 Elegance, if I pressed the remote unlock button twice in quick succession, it unlocked all the doors. With the Scout, I have to wait a couple or three seconds to do the second press to unlock all the doors, is this normal with the mark 2 Fabias?

2. It's only happened once, but the other day, when I unlocked the doors with the remote, all four windows came down about two inches give or take. This, of course, took me by surprise. It was raining at the time, but they all went up OK using the drivers door switches. It hasn't happened again, even though we've had rain. So just wondering if this is something I should get the dealer to look at?

3. I know dealers/Skoda are somewhat optomistic when stating MPG, (eg. mine should get 67mpg extra urban). But I like to think I live in the real world, so what should I realisticly expect to get? Currently, the display is telling me it's 58.3, over about 500 miles. I'm quite happy about that, but could it be better, should it be worse, who knows?

Your thoughts gratefully received.

Cheers, Trev.

pressing buttons too quickly take it to dealers and programme doors to open on one press of the button

Keeping the open button pressed opens the windows and visa versa

Hi Trev :)

1. Yes, you need to leave a little pause before the second press to unlock everything.

2. Make sure you don't hold down the unlock button. If you do, the windows will come down. Holding the lock button will raise them if they are open too.

3. The Combined figure is your realistic target for real-world driving and most TDI drivers are seeing 60mpg on a trip, so you're doing very well :) It will improve as you get more miles on it.

Enjoy the car !

By the way if you dont like having to click the open button twice to open all doors you can get your dealer (or someone on here who has VCDS) to change it to open all doors with one click.
