Can't open boot on VRS

Featured Replies

Been trying all day

really ****ed off now. Can anyone point me To a guide on how to manually release it?

Need to get my work laptop out and also need access to spare since I also got a nail in my rear.....

Thanks

Lower the rear seat and lean into the booot. There is a grey plastic cover which hides the locking mechanism in the centre of the boot, unclip it (you can be quite forceful with it). Fiddle with the orange lever thingy and it should pop open. Chances are the metal lever which normally presses onto the orange bit has bent, a couple of taps with a hammer will sort it. Fingers crossed thats what it is. Mine did it last year and has been fine until this week when the same thing happened.

1/ Rear seats fold, get stuff out of the boot that way.

2/ Try push and hold the middle button on the remote, this auto-magically unlocks and opens the boot (usually). Lots know of this but I didn't for the first three years of car ownership.

3/ Try pushing down on the boot lid whilst operating the boot release erm... handle.

4/ If still stuck, can totally remove the rear seats including backs by flicking the catches with a flat bladed screwdriver. Then remove the boot floor cover, then get access to spare plus tools.

Aye. Thanks for your responses....

Got it opened via manual release. Seems the Orange catch is not going through to release.....

Trying to workout what to hammer!

I found some info on this a while back - will try to find the thread.

Try this, open one of the back doors or both, then try opening the boot, this works for me every time, weird i know.....
