My rear springs aren't stiff enough and could be lower...

Anyone now how I'd get lower/stiffer springs?

I think you may be looking at setups for track cars Luke.

Personally I think the KW3 are great, I was offered a track set up if I wanted stiffer... but I wouldn't want to drive a car like that on the road.

Cutting your springs IS illegal though and personally I couldn't live with myself if having illegal cut springs caused an accident. Just my two cents.

Front are fine, but rears aren't, rubs too much and isnt low enough (sooo much travel)

Do they not have adjustable damping? Have you put on all the high speed compression damping you can?

I don't think cut spring are illegal as such, but it is illegal to have springs that are loose when the dampers are at full extension.

I guess your nest option would be to look at more race dedicated equipment form the likes of Ohlins etc.

No adjustment on the rear I don't think... Spring is seperately to the shock anyway

and wow i didnt know cutting springs could adjust the stiffness. i understand less travel and stuff and surely they're just as stiff as before in terms of the amount of pressure it takes to make them compress?

i just want stiffer springs, surely theres a company that can take the previous springs and make a copy, but stiffer?

people talk about fitting stiffer springs on other cars all the time

when the rear is stripped the rear ride height is too high. its just right with everything in the car but i dont want that

There's more science in springs then you realise...

It could be as simple as measuring the length, diameter and coil spacing of you current springs and finding some aftermarket springs from another car that matches what you want, with a higher spring rate? what about newer VW Caddy's or similar, something designed to take a load?

There probably are companies that will make you a bespoke set of springs, but tooling costs for a 1 off will probably be, in all likelihood: phenomenal, and I can guess at what you've spent on that thing already...

the rear shocks should be adjustable luke you just need to get the shock off as they adjust from the top

done, even the cup

i find this problem with the rear springs travelling far to much, the ride can sit ok but at speed over uneven roads or with a little more weight in the back then they rub. Apparently FK springs are lower but regarding the rating of the spring in terms of stiffness, i have no clue

would certainly effect stiffness yes, you can adjust the damper to near enough solid on my Spax.

Yes, more compression damping will increase the amount of resistance on the compression stroke of the shock, making the unit 'stiffer'. I know some shocks adjust by turning the damper stanchion inside shock body. I take it you never looked at the instructions, not that I would have done, it just may have helped you out a bit here...

What are you trying to achieve?

If they currently RUB, then won't they rub more if you somehow lower it more?

KW V3's have adjustments on the damper for compression and rebound.

Compression adjustment is on the bottom of the shock. If you turn it right up, then this will make the shock stiffer to bumps, as it effectively slows the rate of absorbtion.

But once again, what are you trying to achieve?
