Deactivate auto central locking?

Featured Replies

2010 Octavia : can I deactivate the auto central locking that seems to happen when I drive off?

Thanks

No idea on an Octavia-you can on a maxidot equipped Yeti so I'd look there if you have maxidot on your Octy-otherwise I' have a shout/search on the Octavia forum......

If you have maxidot yes, otherwise a dealer or member with VCDS can for you.

It was a year ago that my dealer disabled anti-hijack on my request. IIRC it was not possible to disable this via maxidot. So I believe it's the VCDS route for you.

HTH, Mike

Its there. Not sure on the new dash pods, buy on mine its under convenience

Have you been through all the menus? What do you have listed?

You piqued my interest. Just checked, and under Convenience I *do* have Door open (Manual or Auto; mine's currently on manual) But I thought this was for something else, and recall going through the manual with a fine-tooth comb at the time! However, I'll defer your better knowledge :-).

I'm out on the weekly shop tomorrow, so will confirm by seeing what effect it has to switch this to auto.

BTW - am I the only one who wishes there was a complete listing/description of maxidot options in one place? (Err - is there a thread on this?)

I have pics of the screens, so will see what I can do ;)

OK, if I set this option to Auto, then anti-hijack comes back. BUT I now can't turn the bl**dy thing back off! Switching back to manual (all doors) doesn't disable anti-hijack. I'm gutted; I spent 3 months last year waiting for a trip to the dealer to disable this - my kids are not going to be happy.

If anyone does not how to disable anti-hijack without VCDS please speak now!

auto locking is key specific, so changes will only affect the key inserted when the change is done.

Some settings only take effect with door closed, seatbelt off and ignition on to dash lights and engine NOT running.

Hijack is one if these settings.

Hey, very impressive answer response here! I reckon I may have had my seltbelt on (I'm old enough to remember the clunk-click every trip adverts). But Maxidot is now showing me back to manual, so I guess to turn it off I probably need to activate auto again and then re-try back to manual with the combination above. I'll give it a go; of course cannot verify without taking a short trip ;-(

Try your spare key as well, as you may find it's not been set for that key just in case it wont disable for some odd reason.

To save another dealer trip, could try someone with VCDS near you.

  • 3 years later...
