Help - Octavia creak, not usual suspects

Featured Replies

Help, our 2007 VRS has developed a creak under acceleration, breaking, reversing.

2 garages have looked and both said not ARB, not drop links, not lower arms, not bushes but that the noise is coming from the chassis and the bulkhead area. The garage tonight who couldnt find it suggested it might be a weld thats split and maybe a nightmare to find.

Anyone had the same ? Would a Skoda UK charge for diagnosis of said creak ?

Thanks in advance.

I took SWMBO Hyundai to a solus MOT station. They had a jig to shake and bounce the car at any corner. Something like that would help the diagnosis?:wonder:

Had a creak once in a Honda HRV when pulling away, turned out to be a wheel bearing but I would guess the garages you tried would have found in pretty quick had it been that.

I have a slight squeaking noise when running over uneven road from the passenger side front wheel, but that is pretty simple in theory. Might need some lube on something...

I had a 'cracking' noise on my car under similar circumstances. Turned out to be one of the door hinges. Lubricating it well sorted it out.
