Front Seat Removal problem

Featured Replies

I'm trying to sort out the water ingress with my Superb which means taking the front seat out on passenger side. I have read previously what to do such as disconnect battery, undo 2x 13mm bolts, remove torx screws and trim but the problem is the seat wont budge. Its the electric seat although i dont know if this makes a difference. The post i read before simply said undo bolts and push seat back to release it from the bracket but no matter what i try it wont move. Have i missed something? Ive tried brute force up to a limit, i feel if i push harder i may cause damage. Any advice would be most welcome.....thankyou

leave battery connected but do not unplug any of the electrics under the seat until battery disconnected?????

Havew you done this bit?

Put a flat blade screw driver as above and push the clips out. they are tight but we pop out eventually.

Thanks especially for the pic, i will give it a go

As said in my PM, but I will post this for others to see as well:

There is a small black plastic locating 'peg' between the two 13mm nuts which may be stopping the seat from coming out of the bracket, if it is then a slight squeeze of this should allow the seat to pop out from the bracket, on my car thought this locating peg offered no resistance and the seats simply pushed back, you do need to be a bit forceful though as the seats are 'kin heavy - more so when they are electric ones!

You will not need the battery connected as the electric motor simply moves the seat on the lower part of the subframe (the part that is bolted to the car).

I never needed to prise anything like in the photo above though, just a good push backwards and they came out.
