Testing lambda probe using vag com

Featured Replies

Hey guys!

I have some difficulties with my vag com. So I got the P0420 error message (catalysator efficienty low) and thought that before buying a new one I should test the lambda probes. So I launched vag com: 01 Engine > 04 Basic Settings > Group 043 > temperature over 650 C and the test is still off... Do you have any idea what did I wrong? This is my first time testing the lambda probe. Btw I have a Fabia 1.2 BME 2005.

Cheers,

mo

To run the test you press and hold the brake pedal. The engine will rev up and the test will start. Hold brake pedal until it says test is complete.

Do NOT browse up and down when in basic setting mode (bit of a software design mistake putting those buttons there IMO.

This I believe is one of the tests the car runs as standard as part of the readiness markers. You could therefore clear the codes. Readiness will now say failed or incomplete. Drive as normal for hmm, don't have a clue really, few hundred miles maybe. Go back to check they move to passed.
