Bronze SM

Featured Replies

That's a straw-man argument - any colour of car will be hard to see at night when it's not illuminated, and any colour of light will be visible in the dark.

That is exactly the point I was trying to make! Why lights are visible at night has exactly ZERO to do with why a red coloured car is not safe (in my view).

As to rest you are saying: of course all true. Science 101 again and it does not have much to do with my points re dangerous colours nor with the original topic.

So back OT again: I like bronze. :giggle:

Here's a test for you.

Take a standard OS map with the red main roads and try to read it under a red |(night sight safe) bulb. The roads disappear.

If you use a yellow bulb the yellow roads disappear.

Yes any car will "disappear" if put in a dark corner, but certain colours merge sooner than others. Black/grey obviously being the first, then red/blue/green. The last to go are white and then yellow. (and I am not including Hi-vis colours)

Ahem. I am, I should admit, easily distracted.

And I concur; the bronze is actually quite nice. Especially considering it's essentially metallic brown. :D

I still think a full-on dayglo orange would suit the Yeti. As would the RS3 engine.

Close, but more orangier. Somewhere between that and Dyno-rod-van-orange.

Passed by the Glasgow Dealer today, Henrys to see if I could view there new colour display. Totally unhelpful, first of all they didn't have the new colour display or it wasn't on show and secondly the salesman who recognised me from when I was shopping about for the SM (knows I have bought elswhere)when asked said they did have the new one but wouldn't show me it!! I thought he might have been joking then proceeded to tell me I wouldn't get priority servicing with my car, whatever that may be. Told him SUK might be interested and as they were not my local Skoda dealer they wouldn't be servicing my car anyway. :giggle:

You wont find any in Bronze as none have been made at the factory for the UK, thats what Skoda head office told me when I asked if there were any in the UK to see in the flesh!
