Brake pedal stuck

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Brake pedals are getting stuck while driving. This seems to happen once a day and the things are fine. What could be the issue?

How many pedals have you got, I have two a brake and throttle.

I suspect you only have one brake, but may have a clutch and throttle too.

So what model, how old, how many miles?

Someone may then be able to help.

Are you a driving instructor with dual controls? If so, sometimes the dual controls interfere with the normal operation of the drivers footbrake due to a misalignment of the operating rods and brackets or poor lubrication. If you are not a driving instructor look for any under dash insulation or cabling that has become entangled with the brake operating mechanism further up the bulkhead under the dash. It means breaking your back to get down to look properly with a torch so go cautiously. Careful lubrication of the footbrake pivots using a silicon spray (don't use oil based spray) may also cure it. Good luck.
